Maira’s counseling experience extends beyond clinical settings. She served as the Head of outpatient psychological services at Behman Consultancy Clinics, where she worked with adolescents, adults and elderly facing challenges related to self-esteem, marital / relational conflicts, sexuality, interpersonal problems, stress, authority figures at workplace, familial conflicts and anger as well anxiety and depression.

Having a deep understanding of both Arab and Western cultures, Maira is proficient in providing therapy in both English and Arabic.

Maira utilizes a diverse range of therapeutic approaches to meet the unique needs of her clients. She is deeply influenced by the psycho-dynamic school of thought, particularly drawing from the Jungian school of psychotherapy. This framework allows her to explore the depths of the unconscious mind and uncover patterns, symbols, and archetypes that shape an individual’s psyche.

In addition to her psycho-dynamic foundation, Maira incorporates techniques from cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). With CBT, she focuses on examining clients’ thoughts, beliefs, and attitudes, and how these influence their perception of life situations and experiences. By working on cognitive restructuring, Maira helps clients develop healthier perspectives and adaptive coping mechanisms.

Maira also integrates techniques from schema therapy and attachment theory, particularly when addressing relationship struggles. She recognizes the impact of early life experiences and core beliefs on interpersonal dynamics. By working within these frameworks, she assists clients in understanding their attachment styles, identifying maladaptive schemas, and fostering more fulfilling and secure connections.

Furthermore, Maira incorporates hypnosis as a powerful tool to tap into untapped potentials and resources within her clients. Through hypnosis, she facilitates deep relaxation, heightened suggestibility, and access to the subconscious mind. This approach can assist individuals in overcoming barriers, exploring their inner strengths, and fostering personal transformation.

Ultimately, Maira’s therapeutic approach aims to guide clients towards achieving inner psychological balance. By delving into the relational dynamics within the client and themselves, she helps them explore their emotional landscape, weaknesses, vulnerabilities, insecurities, and the integration of masculine and feminine aspects. By pinpointing the underlying psychological imbalances that contribute to their current struggles, Maira supports clients in their journey towards healing and growth.
