Laura Jimenez Martinez Psychologist

Laura holds a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Granada University, Spain, where she specialized as a clinical psychologist. She’s been an active member of the Spanish Psychology School (no CL-4261) since 2014. She has, in the past, worked in Hospital Rio Hortega (Spain) and gained expertise in Cognitive behavioral therapy. This helped her in working on people with serious mental problems such as depression, schizophrenia, eating disorders, and addiction. She’s also been volunteering and working in different NGOs, passionately caring about the mental health of every person she works with. She has a passion for couples therapy as she finds it very courageous of them. Besides her clinical experience, Laura possesses her master’s degree in Education specializing as a counsellor and since then she’s also been working in different schools helping children and adolescents face and overcome gender violence, substance abuse, bullying, anxiety, low self-esteem, self-awareness, among other issues. Laura has experience dealing with people from different cultures as she was born and raised in Spain, lived in Australia for many years, and is presently in the Middle East. She speaks fluent Spanish & English, and because of her vast experience around the world, her approach is a blend of humanistic psychology, cognitive behavioral and admiration for psychoanalysis.
